London, UK – 22 November 2011 – Molten Technologies is proud to announce a contract with Thames Water’s lead service integrator and Desktone for the provision of virtual desktops to Thames Water. Using its desktops-as-a-service (DaaS) platform, Molten will support a substantial portion of Thames Water’s third party and internal staff desktop.
Molten Technologies is a specialist in virtual desktops and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and will build and run the service inside a Thames Water-managed environment using a Desktone platform. Molten Technologies recently signed an agreement with Desktone as their premier partner in Europe and this deal establishes Molten Technologies as a key Desktop as a Service (DaaS) provider to enterprises across Europe.
The appointment of Molten Technologies’ Desktone solution followed a substantial period of comparative piloting activity.
Thames Water CIO Aiden Heke said: “Our decision to invest in virtual desktop technology demonstrates our innovative approach and our long-term commitment to contain costs and boost staff productivity by improving flexibility and security. This supports our main aim of delivering the best possible service to our 14m customers.”
